Crazy wind this morning!!!! I walked out of my hotel to start the walk at 6am, and the first thing I noticed was how strong the wind was. We had that storm the previous day, which brought strong winds, and all night I could hear the hotel roof rattling! So I broke out my raincoat/windbreaker and set off. Luckily I was wearing my pack because the wind was so strong I was blown sideways several times! It remained strong for the entire walk with gusts above 30 mph.

Michael Jackson sighting up ahead?

The walk took us through a little wooded area, followed by fields and a few very small towns. Then we climbed a very rocky hill with a beautiful cross at the top. The wind never let up. The path divided and I went left which took us the entire way around the Burgos airport and then through a huge park ending in the city, while a lot of other people went straight which took them through a large industrial area. I had gotten about 2 hours of sleep the night before, so I was actually dragging quite a bit on today's walk. I felt it more, I was shuffling along more and generally just had more aches and pains. When I got there, I went straight to my hotel, got coffee, and checked in. After touring the beautiful Cathedral de Santa Maria, I went back and got a nice siesta before dinner. I needed that!

A group of us met at a nice restaurant and had a great dinner. Sadly, I will probably not see some of them again as I have a rest day tomorrow, and they move on ahead of me.
